Intimate x Coastline

Unlike a summer wedding, this winter celebration embraced the foggy, salty air and the looming waves in the sea to find inspiration and color for its design details. Jesse was inspired by the lichen-covered branches, the moss-speckled rocks, and the clients vintage denim collection. Guests got cozy amid candlelight for a warming dinner and a late night dance party they will never forget.

The resort had recently been renovated and redecorated, so Jesse incorporated many of these new design elements into the event decor. This allowed all of the paper materials and design details to feel like a cohesive extension of, not only the outdoor natural location on the ocean, but also the existing interior design, for a truly seamless concept.

Driving from San Francisco to Mendocino, Jesse noticed the side of the highway and its grasses, berries, nettles and greenery which served as the visual archetype for the floral design for this wedding. Jesse always enjoys bringing the outside in, where the interior space feels relatable to the beauty just outside the window.
